Blockchain, sometimes referred to as Distributed Ledger Technology (DLT), makes the history of any digital asset unalterable and transparent through the use of decentralization and cryptographic hashing.

A simple analogy for understanding blockchain technology is a Google Doc. When we create a document and share it with a group of people, the document is distributed instead of copied or transferred. This creates a decentralized distribution chain that gives everyone access to the document at the same time. No one is locked out awaiting changes from another party, while all modifications to the doc are being recorded in real-time, making changes completely transparent.

Of course, blockchain is more complicated than a Google Doc, but the analogy is apt because it illustrates three critical ideas of the technology:

  1. Digital assets are distributed instead of copied or transferred.
  2. The asset is decentralized, allowing full real-time access.
  3. A transparent ledger of changes preserves integrity of the document, which creates trust in the asset.

Blockchain is an especially promising and revolutionary technology because it helps reduce risk, stamps out fraud and brings transparency in a scalable way for myriad uses.

This Workshop is conducted by one of the leading figures Mr Farhang Maghdeed  Hamzah of Blockchain Technology in Kurdistan Region will give you the background of the technology and justifications for implementation in our future market. In this workshop you are going to learn about the concept, technology, future feasibility and implementation. It is also vital to understand how the Islamic world and financial banking system will react and benefit from this technology. At the end of our workshop you will be engaged and learn;

  1. What is Blockchain Technology?
  2. What are the applications of blockchain?
  3. What are the benefits of blockchain?
  4. How far can we trust cryptocurrency and blockchain technology?
  5. Can we look at the blockchain concept as a technology or incentivization?
  6. What Will the Global Financial Structure look like in the near future?
  7. Can we integrate business cases on top of blockchain?
  8. Are there any legal frameworks concerning blockchain technology?
  9. Is cryptocurrency Halal?

Participants also expect to work on a couple brainstorming questions to see how the information they have gained from the workshop will help them in their discipline and their academic environment.
