The Faculty of Pharmacy was established by a decree of the Ministry of Higher Education in 2020 in Erbil, Kurdistan Region of Iraq. It is a five-year undergraduate program designed according to the Bologna system, including updated courses in pharmaceutics, clinical pharmacy, clinical pharmacokinetics, therapeutics, pharmaceutical chemistry, pharmaceutical analysis, pharmacology, pharmacoeconomics, toxicology, pharmacognosy, clinical microbiology, clinical biochemistry, physiology, pathology, histology, human biology, genetics, immunology, anatomy, hospital training and quality control, in addition to courses in English, mathematics, and computer science.

The college offers a modern learning environment that balances theory and practice in advanced laboratories for compounding, analysis, microbiology, and clinical simulation. Students develop hands-on skills on contemporary instrumentation while adhering to rigorous safety procedures and quality assurance standards.

Clinical education is patient-centered, with supervised field training in accredited clinical settings that strengthens competencies in dispensing, medication counseling, rational use of medicines, community and clinical pharmacy practice, pharmacovigilance, and health education.

The college fosters a culture of research and innovation through capstone projects and specialized workshops addressing local health priorities such as chronic diseases and antimicrobial resistance. Graduates are prepared for diverse career pathways in clinical and community pharmacy, the pharmaceutical industry, drug regulation, research and development, regulatory affairs, and academia—promoting strong employability, lifelong learning, and professional ethics.
