
Biomass as a Source of Energy international workshop
On Jun 2nd, 2021, an international workshop was held by Environmental Engineering Department, titled (Biomass as a Source of Energy). The workshop was presented by “Mrs. Shadan Rashid Abubaker” (Ph.D. Student at Harran University in Turkey) and “Dr. Mustafa Aslan ” (Associate Prof. at Harran University in Turkey). The workshop covered both environmental protection and using renewable energy.
About the Workshop
Biomass energy is energy generated or produced by living or once-living organisms. The most common biomass materials used for energy are plants, such as corn and soy, above. The energy from these organisms can be burned to create heat or converted into electricity.In Kurdistan region we have many sources of biomass there for we can using as a resource of Energy.Participant Outcome
By the end of this workshop, participants will be able to:1- Understand the significant of strategic Biomass resource management.
2- Developing and reinforcing participants’ knowledge and understanding of generation of renewable energy.
3- Increasing the Environmental conservation from any pollution.
4- Understanding the regional cooperation and coordination.
