KNU President Visits the Chinese Consul General

Asst. Prof. Dr. Kayhan Zrar Ghafoor, the President of Knowledge University, accompanied by Asst. Prof. Dr. Ali Kattan, the Director of Knowledge University Research Center, had a visit to the Chinese Consul General residence in Erbil-Dream City today at 10:00AM. The invitation came from the Chinese Consul General in Erbil, Mr. Ni Ruchi.

Mr. President highlighted the vision and goals of Knowledge University to become a truly international university by establishing connections with other universities worldwide. He highlighted the roles that different Chinese universities and companies could play in the enrichment and development of the region having Knowledge University as one of the main players in driving the different joint academic and research activities. Mr. President also indicated Knowledge University’s will to collaborate with such Chinese institutions on different levels to cover different prospects that would be of interest to both parties.

Mr. Consul General welcomed the idea of such collaboration and promised to pursue such endeavor in the very near future. Many other issues were discussed including the involvement of some Chinese construction companies in the development of the upcoming residence villas project at Knowledge University campus. Supporting Knowledge University upcoming international conferences( ICACS21)and (EAI FoNeS-IoT 2022) was also discussed considering Huawei and other IT companies as candidate sponsors.

Mr. President then presented some souvenirs, bearing Knowledge University logo, to Mr. Consul General. The visit was concluded around 11:00AM and both parties agreed to follow up with all the issues discussed.
