Knowledge University Hosts Collaborative Workshop on Recent Technologies in Oil Industry

In a bid to foster collaboration and knowledge exchange within the oil industry, the Department of Petroleum Engineering at Knowledge University (KNU) in the presence of the chairman of the Board of trustees “Mr. Dashti Haji Najmaddin” and the President “Dr. Ahmed Dizaiy” hosted a significant workshop titled "Recent Technologies in Oil Industry" on Tuesday, January 30th, 2024. The event saw participation from esteemed representatives of Koya University, Erbil Polytechnic University, and Nobel Technical Institute, each contributing their expertise to the discussion. The workshop served as a platform for academia-industry collaboration, providing insights into the latest advancements and innovations shaping the oil sector. Among the prominent figures present were Mrs. Hawzhin Fatih, Head of Petroleum Engineering Department at KNU; Dr. Pshtiwan Tahseen, Head of Petroleum Engineering Department at Koya University; Mr. Rasan Sarbast, Head of Petroleum Department at Nobel Technical Institute; and Assoc. Prof. Qasim Yahya, Lecturer at Petroleum Technology Department - Erbil Polytechnic University.

Throughout the day-long event, participants engaged in fruitful discussions, sharing research findings, and exploring emerging technologies pertinent to the oil industry. Topics ranged from enhanced oil recovery techniques to sustainable practices and digitalization in upstream operations. The workshop concluded with a consensus on the importance of continued collaboration and knowledge sharing to address the dynamic challenges facing the oil industry. Participants expressed their commitment to furthering such initiatives in the future, underscoring the role of academia-industry partnerships in driving progress and innovation in the field.
