College of Nursing Marks World Diabetes Day with Awareness and Free Health Checks

Erbil, Kurdistan Region

In recognition of World Diabetes Day, the College of Nursing at Knowledge University organized a special awareness activity under the supervision of M. Yusra Mohammed. The event highlighted the importance of diabetes prevention, management, and education, engaging both students and the broader community.

As part of the activity, nursing students prepared a series of informative posters aimed at raising awareness about diabetes, including its symptoms, risk factors, and preventative measures. The posters, creatively designed and well-researched, served as an educational tool for attendees, providing practical tips for healthier living.

In addition to the awareness campaign, the College of Nursing offered free health checks for guests, which included blood sugar testing, blood pressure measurement, and general health consultations. The initiative was well-received, with numerous participants expressing appreciation for the opportunity to gain insights into their health status.

The event drew participation from faculty, students, and members of the public, fostering a collaborative and educational environment. This initiative aligns with Knowledge University’s commitment to social responsibility and community engagement, making a meaningful impact on public health awareness in the region.
